Victor's Hat Shop, Inc. was an ambitious idea conceived shortly after our corporation's founder, Aristotle "Harry" Svingos was welcomed to Ellis Island. He traveled to West Virginia and opened a modest hat shop and shoe shine stand in 1911.
In the 1940's, son Lambros Svingos stepped into his father's shoes, carrying on the traditions left by Harry and maintaining an admirable degree of excellence in caring for the business. Over the next sixty years, the family honed its collective skills as craft and tradesmen, branching out into the profession of full service fabric care. They concerned themselves with everything that concerned their Tri-State neighbors and friends, in fields including fur, leather, laundry, hats and shoes.
Around the turn of the millennium, Lambros's own children took the helm, and now head both branches of one of the oldest continuously family run businesses in the region, with locations in both Huntington and Barboursville. As Victor's Hat Shop grew into Victor's Cleaners and Launderers, Joanna Svingos-Smith and Aristotle "Telly" Svingos, sought to become certified Master Sanitone dry cleaners, knowing that their long-standing customers expect only the very best.
As we continue to uphold this very simple truth, we at Victor's hope to continue serving you and your family for many years to come.
